This repository contains the data analysis material presented in "A lexical database of British Sign Language (BSL) and German Sign Language (DGS): Iconicity ratings, iconic strategies, and concreteness norms". The Files section contains four folders: data, figures, output and scripts. Data: Cleaned and pseudonomised data from the rating tasks (data_ratings) and annotations on the signs presented in the study (data_signs). Figures: Figures produced by the latest version of the script. Output: Output produced in the script, containing combined ratings and demographic information. Scripts: The latest version of the script as an executable R-Markdown file, as well as an md file and a human-readable HTML-file including printed outputs. To run the analysis, download the folders, or at least the data-files and Rmd script and recreate the folder structure from this repository on your local device. The Rmd script may require installing the correct packages. Note that the HTML-version contains a report of the package versions used for the original analysis.
