The article considers a special case of interlanguage semantic interference, namely the appearance of "false friends of the translator" ekspert ‘expert’ and ekspertiza ‘expertise’, as a result of the secondary borrowing of these words from the English language and the association of their meanings with the form of words originally borrowed from French. The authors consider both dictionary meanings corresponding to the linguistic norm and contextual ones, including new meanings characteristic of the English language, related to media, publicity of "presenting knowledge and skills", and the market economy. The article also analyzes the use of the derivative ekspertnost' ‘expertness’ and its associations with expert knowledge, content, and position. The authors conclude that the lexemes considered in the article are influenced by three processes at once: interlanguage interference, globalization and marketization of discourse, digitalization and texting.
